NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- David West put in 20 points Sunday and the Indiana Pacers used a bruising defense to down New York 102-95, taking Game 1 of their second-round series.

Roy Hibbert piled up 14 points, eight rebounds and five blocks while Paul George chipped in 19 points for the Pacers, who dominated under the boards with a 44-30 rebounding edge and held New York to 43.2 percent shooting from the field.

D.J. Augustin also reached double figured with 16 points in the Eastern Conference semifinals opener, in which the Pacers and Knicks resumed a post-season rivalry that saw them face off six times from 1993-2000.
