ARLINGTON, Texas, May 5 (UPI) -- Adrian Belte scored Elvis Andrus with a game-winning single in the ninth inning Sunday and Texas completed a sweep of Boston with a 4-3 victory.
With the score tied 3-3 in the ninth, Andrus singled with two outs against Clayton Mortensen (0-2) and went to second on a wild pitch.
After Lance Berkman was intentionally walked, Beltre lined a pitch over leaping second baseman Dustin Pedroia and into the right field, chasing home Andrus.
Nelson Cruz banged a two-run homer and Mitch Moreland added a solo shot for American League West-leading Texas, which completed a three-game home sweep.
Joe Nathan (1-0) earned the decision with a scoreless top of the ninth.
David Ortiz launched a two-run homer and David Ross provided a solo shot for American League East-leading Boston.
