NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- Josh Donaldson belted a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning Sunday, boosting the Oakland Athletics over the New York Yankees 5-4.

Sean Doolittle (2-0) earned the decision with a scoreless seventh inning and Grant Balfour corralled his fifth save despite allowing a hit and walk in the ninth.
