OEIRAS, Portugal, May 3 (UPI) -- World No. 228 Pablo Carreno-Busta used a three-set win Friday to join the top three seeds in the semifinals of the Portugal Open tennis tournament.
Carreno-Busta, a qualifier, defeated fourth-seeded Fabio Fognini 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 and reached his first ATP semifinal. Fognini didn't face a break point in winning the first set but Carreno-Busta finished off four of his 10 break opportunities over the last two sets for the upset win.
