MILWAUKEE, May 2 (UPI) -- Allen Craig and Pete Kozma both had two-run singles in a six-run third inning Thursday that propelled St. Louis to a 6-5 victory over Milwaukee.

The Cardinals sent 11 men to the plate in the third and scored all their runs in the inning after two were retired. St. Louis won its third in a row.

All the runs in the sixth came against Wily Peralta (2-2), who loaded the bases with two out by hitting Matt Holliday with a pitch.

Craig then delivered a two-run single, both Yadier Molina and David Freese followed with RBI base hits and Kozma ended the scoring with another two-run single.

Milwaukee fought back from its six-run deficit to get within two runs in the eighth and Alex Gonzalez then singled in a run in the ninth against Edward Mujica.

Mujica, however, struck out Jonathan Lucroy with the tying run on first base to earn his seventh save.

The win went to starter Jake Westbrook (2-1), who allowed a run on six hits in six innings.
