PHILADELPHIA, May 2 (UPI) -- Home runs by Domonic Brown and Ryan Howard ignited the Philadelphia offense Thursday and the Phillies ended a two-game skid with a 7-2 win over Miami.

The Marlins took a 1-0 lead in the first, but Brown tied it with a solo homer in the second and Howard gave the Phillies the lead for good with another solo blast in the fourth.

Brown also contributed an RBI single in the eighth, during which the Phillies closed out the scoring with three runs.

Kyle Kendrick (3-1) worked seven innings to get the victory. He gave up two runs, one of them a homer by Justin Ruggiano in the sixth, on seven hits. The Philadelphia bull pen finished the game with two perfect innings.

The loss went to Alex Sanabia (2-4), who was touched for four runs on six hits in five innings.
