MLB: Baltimore 7, Seattle 2

SEATTLE, May 1 (UPI) -- The Baltimore Orioles scored four runs in the first inning Tuesday and held on to beat the Seattle Mariners on the road 7-2.

Matt Wieters and Chris Dickerson both drove in a pair of runs for the Orioles and Nate McLouth stroked a solo home run to lead off the game.

The Orioles scored three more times in the first inning. Two runs came on Wieters' RBI double and the other on a wild pitch by Brandon Mauer (2-4) who took the loss.

Baltimore added a pair in the top of the sixth, which Seattle answered with two runs in their half of the frame.

Jason Hammel (4-1) picked up the win for the Orioles after allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings. Hammel pitched to three batters in the sixth and served up a home run pitch to Michael Morse.
