KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich., April 30 (UPI) -- The coach of a Michigan high school golf team and one of his players are among three people killed and seven others injured in a two-car crash, officials say.

Jason Potter, the golf coach at Grayling High School, died when a van he was driving collided with another van at an intersection in Kalkaska County, Mlive.com reported Tuesday.

The collision sent both vehicles rolling before they landed in an open yard.

Potter, 28, was transporting six members of the golf team to a tournament at the time of the collision.

Three people in Potter's van were ejected, including Louis Menard, 18, who died.

Another team member was pinned under the other van, which was driven by Rhonda Mitchell, 45, of Kalkaska.

Her daughter, Cassandra Stapleton, 27, also was killed in the crash, police said. Stapleton's daughter, also in the van, was not harmed.

Of those injured, two were listed in critical condition at an area hospital. Two others were in serious condition and three were in fair condition.
