NHL: Edmonton 7, Vancouver 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, April 28 (UPI) -- Edmonton's Nail Yakupov registered his first career hat trick Saturday and the Oilers routed playoff-bound Vancouver 7-2 to close out their season.

Justin Schultz added a goal and three assists and Jordan Eberle tallied twice as Edmonton ended a disappointing 2012-13 campaign with a second straight win, finishing at 19-22-7.

Jerred Smithson also scored and Devan Dubnyk made 28 saves in the victory.

Derek Roy and Tom Sestito scored for the Canucks, seeded third in the Western Conference, who finished the regular season with two straight defeats.

They will face sixth-seeded San Jose in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Roberto Luongo was torched for seven goals on 37 shots in the loss.
