NHL: New Jersey 3, Pittsburgh 2

NEWARK, N.J., April 26 (UPI) -- Ilya Kovalchuk produced the go-ahead goal with 6:10 left in the third period Thursday, giving the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 triumph over Pittsburgh.

New Jersey, which will miss the playoffs for the second time in three seasons, overcame a 2-0 deficit for its fourth win in five games.

Travis Zajac began the New Jersey comeback, scoring with 1:27 left in the second period. David Clarkson tied it on the power play 3:01 into the third.

Johan Hedberg picked up the win with 16 saves.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots for the Penguins, who have already wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Matt Cooke and Jussi Jokinen scored for Pittsburgh.
