Faxon-Sluman team leads Legends of Golf

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 26 (UPI) -- Brad Faxon and Jeff Sluman teamed for a 10-under-par 62 Friday and lead the PGA Champions Tour's Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf by one stroke.

Faxon and Sluman had six birdies on their final eight holes in the better ball format to take a lead over Bernard Langer and Tom Lehman in the 54-hole event. The Langer-Lehman team closed with three consecutive birdies to get to 9-under.

Tom Watson and Andy North, who won the event in 2008, are in the tie for third at 8-under. Also in third are Kirk Triplett and Craig Stadler along with Tim Kite and Gil Morgan.

Defending champions Michael Allen and David Frost are tied for 21st at 5-under 67.
