MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 3, New York Mets 2

NEW YORK, April 25 (UPI) -- Andre Ethier and Juan Uribe drove in runs with ninth-inning hits Thursday in helping the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-2 win over the New York Mets.

Dodgers rookie pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu allowed three hits in seven innings but, after giving up a run in the sixth inning, left without a decision. He walked three and struck out eight.

With the score 1-1, Nick Punto opened the Los Angeles ninth with a double off Mets reliever Scott Rice (1-1) and took third on a fielder's choice. Rice intentionally walked Matt Kemp but Ethier followed with an RBI single to center, with Punto scoring and Kemp taking third.

Bobby Parnell replaced Rice but Uribe, battling through an eight-pitch at-bat, reached on an infield hit while Kemp made the score 3-2.

That gave Kenny Jansen (1-0), who pitched the eighth, the win. Brandon League got his sixth save despite giving up a home run to Ike Davis in the bottom of the ninth.

Kemp singled in Carl Crawford, who was hit by a pitch to open the game, in the first inning. That lead stood until the sixth when David Wright delivered a sacrifice fly for the Mets.
