SUNRISE, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- Marcel Goc netted the go-ahead goal and Jacob Markstrom stopped 36 shots Tuesday in Florida's 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers.
Goc scored on a power play 7 1/2 minutes into the third period, breaking a 1-1 tie, and the Panthers went on to snap six-game losing streak.
Tomas Fleischmann chipped in with a goal and an assist while Drew Shore secured the triumph with an empty-net tally.
Markstrom yielded both New York markers in the third period as the Rangers launched 17 shots on net.
New York still holds the eighth and final post-season seed in the Eastern Conference despite the loss, thanks to Washington's defeat of ninth-seeded Winnipeg Tuesday.
