OTTAWA, April 21 (UPI) -- James Reimer stopped 49-of-50 shots Saturday and the Toronto Maple Leafs clinched a playoff spot with a 4-1 win over Ottawa.

Reimer turned aside 16-of-17 shots in the middle frame as James Van Riemsdyk was notching his 17th and 18th goals of the season for the Maple Leafs, who secured their first post-season appearance since 2004 while ending a two-game skid.

Nazem Kadri and Joffrey Lupul added third-period tallies while Phil Kessel and Cody Franson each contributed two assists for Toronto, seeded fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Jakob Silfverberg scored and Craig Anderson made 18 saves for the Senators, who fell to the seventh seed in the East behind the New York Islanders as their four-game winning streak was snapped.
