MLS: FC Dallas 2, Vancouver 0

FRISCO, Texas, April 21 (UPI) -- Blas Perez scored on a diving header in the second half Saturday, securing FC Dallas' 2-0 victory over Vancouver.

FCD took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when Vancouver's Brad Rusin was assessed an own-goal after David Ferreira's corner kick bounced off the defender and into the net.

Perez doubled the advantage when his header of a redirected a Kenny Cooper shot got past Vancouver goalkeeper Joe Cannon for his third goal of the season.

The MLS points leaders improved to 6-1-1.

Cannon finished with two saves for the Whitecaps (2-3-2).
