BOSTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Friday's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins was postponed for a day because of the search for a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.

The game was moved to 12:30 p.m. EDT Saturday, the NHL said, although officials said additional decisions on the game would be announced by 8:30 a.m. EDT Saturday.

Pittsburgh was to have played the Buffalo Sabres Saturday in Pittsburgh but that game was shifted to 7:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday.

Earlier Friday, the baseball game in which the Kansas City Royals were to have played the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park was postponed.

Much of Boston proper and several areas in the surrounding region were in lockdown situation as authorities searched for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19.

Authorities said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan, 26, were suspected of placing two bombs hear the finish line of the marathon Monday. Three people were killed and more than 170 injured in the bombings.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev died Friday after a confrontation with police. His brother escaped, setting off a massive manhunt that included closing off sections of the city.
