HOUSTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Homers by J.D. Martinez and Rick Ankiel accounted for three runs in the second inning Friday and Houston held on to defeat Cleveland 3-2.

The Astros snapped a five-game losing streak and handed the Indians their fifth straight setback.

Houston came up with 3 1/3 scoreless innings from its bullpen in support of Lucas Harrell (1-2), who gave up two runs on five hits over 5 2/3.

Each of Houston's three relievers gave up a hit with Jose Veras working the ninth for his first save.

Drew Stubbs reached for Cleveland on a one-out, infield single in the ninth, but Veras then got Michael Brantley on a fly ball to center and Jason Kipnis on a grounder to first to end the game.

Carlos Pena drew a one-out walk in the second off Brett Myers (0-3) and scored on a homer to right by Martinez. Ankiel followed with another blast to right on a 3-2 pitch.

Cleveland's runs came on a homer by Lonnie Chisenhall in the fourth following a walk to Mark Reynolds.
