DALLAS, April 18 (UPI) -- Darren Collision came off the bench to score 25 points Wednesday, pushing Dallas to a 99-87 win over New Orleans and a breakeven season.

Dallas wound up at 41-41 after being eight games below .500 in early February. The Mavericks, however, missed the playoffs just two years after winning the NBA championship. It will be the first time they have not participated in the postseason in 13 years.

Collision made 10-of-15 shots from the field. Dirk Nowitzki added 16 points and nine rebounds.

New Orleans was led by Al-Farouq Aminu with 16 points. The team ended its final season as the Hornets with a 27-55 record. The franchise announced in January that beginning next season the team will be known as the Pelicans.
