Postponed Boston Bruins-Ottawa Senators game to be played April 28

BOSTON, April 16 (UPI) -- A Boston Bruins-Ottawa Senators game postponed due to the Boston Marathon terror bombings has been rescheduled for April 28, the NHL said Tuesday.

The game was to have been played Monday night at TD Garden, shortly after the explosions near the marathon's finish line, which have so far resulted in the deaths of three people and injured more than 170.

The rescheduled Sunday date is one day after the previous April 27 conclusion of the lockout-shortened NHL season.

"On behalf of my entire family, our prayers and deepest sympathies are with those who were injured, lost their lives, their families and the entire city of Boston," Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs in a statement.

"I have no doubt that the amazing people in Boston will continue to display great strength and resiliency and we will be there to offer our support in any way that we can in the wake of this tragedy."
