NHL: Carolina 4, Boston 2

RALEIGH, N.C., April 13 (UPI) -- Joe Corvo's go-ahead goal in the third period Saturday helped the Carolina Hurricanes break a seven-game skid with a 4-2 win over Boston.

Jiri Tlusty scored twice as Carolina notched just its second win in 16 games overall.

Jeff Skinner also scored and Justin Peters made 28 saves for the Hurricanes, who also snapped an eight-game home losing streak.

Boston's Tyler Seguin and Milan Lucic each scored as the Bruins missed a chance to claim a playoff berth with their second consecutive loss.

Tuukka Rask turned aside 34 shots for Boston.
