CALGARY, Alberta, April 13 (UPI) -- Mark Giordano scored with 23.1 seconds left in overtime Friday, giving Calgary a 3-2 win over Phoenix.

Giordano took a one-touch pass from Curtis Glencross and beat Mike Smith with a wrist shot.

Calgary, which has fallen out of playoff contention, cost the Coyotes a crucial point as they try to earn a post-season spot.

The night ended with Phoenix, Dallas and Columbus all with 43 points -- two behind Detroit for the final playoff berth in the Western Conference.

Lee Stempniak and Jiri Hudler both scored for Calgary and Joey MacDonald had 29 saves. The Flames have won two out of three.

The Phoenix goals came from Keith Yandle and Antoine Vermette. Smith stopped 22 shots.
