NBA: Memphis 82, Houston 78

HOUSTON, April 13 (UPI) -- Marc Gasol gave Memphis the lead with 1:18 to go Friday and the Grizzlies held Houston scoreless over the final 93 seconds for an 82-78 victory.

Memphis won its third in a row, having moved 29 games above the .500 mark for the first time in franchise history. The Grizzlies jumped into a tie with Denver for the third seed in the Western Conference.

Jeremy Lin hit a 3-pointer with 1:33 remaining to tie the contest, but Houston did not score again.

After Gasol put Memphis in front with a free throw, Mike Conley hit another foul shot for the Grizzlies and Tayshaun Prince made two more.

Gasol scored 15 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies. Zach Randolph also scored 15 points Jerryd Bayless produced 13.

Houston, standing seventh in the Western Conference playoff picture, was led by 30 points from James Harden.
