LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Two free throws by Steve Blake with 42 seconds left put Los Angeles in front Friday and the Lakers survived with a 118-116 win over Golden State.
Los Angeles stayed a game in front of Utah for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with both the Lakers and Jazz having two games left on their schedule.
Klay Thompson pushed Golden State in front by hitting a 3-pointer with 1:24 to go, but the Warriors were shut out the rest of the way.
After Blake's two foul shots gave the Lakers the lead, Dwight Howard made 1-of-2 with 1.5 seconds left to account for the final score.
Stephen Curry then missed a 3-point try at the buzzer for the Warriors, who are a half game in front of Houston for the No. 6 seed in the West.
Curry put on a one-man show for the Warriors, scoring 47 points while taking 31 shots from the field.
