NBA: Denver 96, San Antonio 86

DENVER, April 11 (UPI) -- Wilson Chandler and Corey Brewer combined for 57 points Wednesday, rallying Denver from a slow start to a 96-86 victory over San Antonio.

The Nuggets won their fifth in a row and knocked the Spurs back into a tie with Oklahoma City for the best record in the Western Conference. The Spurs and Thunder both have four games to play.

Chandler had 29 points and nine rebounds while Brewer came off the bench to deliver his 28 points.

Denver shot just 44 percent from the field and scored only 11 points in the opening period, but improved its home record to 36-3. The three home losses are the fewest in the NBA.

Andre Iguodala managed a triple-double for the Nuggets, although he barely reached the minimum in each category. He scored 12 points, had 12 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.

Tim Duncan and Gary Neal both had 17 points for the Spurs.
