KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 11 (UPI) -- Billy Butler and Jeff Francoeur hit solo homers Wednesday and three Kansas City pitchers combined to blank Minnesota 3-0.

Wade Davis (1-0) allowed four hits over five innings to start the shutout, Bruce Chen worked three innings and Kelvin Herrera struck out the side in the ninth for his second save.

Butler's home run came in the second inning and that was all the scoring until the seventh, when Francoeur homered to left and Alcides Escobar delivered an RBI single.

Kansas City won its fourth in a row and handed the Twins their third straight setback.

Liam Hendriks (0-1) took the loss, giving up a lone run on four hits in five innings.
