
ARLINGTON, Texas, April 10 (UPI) -- Matt Moore and four Tampa Bay relievers combined on a five-hit shutout Wednesday, staking the Rays to a 2-0 whitewash of Texas.
Moore (2-0) overcame six walks with the help of three double plays while allowing just one hit over 5 1/3 innings. The left-hander struck out five en route to the victory.
Cesar Ramos, Jake McGee and Joel Peralta team up for 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief and Fernando Rodney recorded his first save of the season as the Rays salvaged one win in a three-game series.
Ben Zobrist went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Evan Longoria added a sacrifice fly in the victory.
Rangers starter Derek Holland (0-1) pitched well in the loss, yielding two runs on five hits over eight frames.
Despite the setback, the Rangers finished a six-game homestand with a 4-2 mark.
