MLB: Texas 7, Los Angeles Angels 3

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 7 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and four RBI Sunday, powering the Texas Rangers' 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

The Rangers were leading 4-3 in the sixth inning when Kinsler's home run broke the game open and handed Texas a win in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Lance Berkman pounded a two-run homer and David Murphy added a solo shot in the first inning for the Rangers, who improved to 4-2 to start the season.

Yu Davish (2-0), coming off a near-perfect game in the previous start against Houston, yielded three runs on six hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out six.

Angels starter Jered Weaver (0-1) was roughed up for five runs on seven hits over five frames.

Mark Trumbo provided two RBI while Josh Hamilton went 3-for-5 with a run scored for Los Angeles.
