NHL: Dallas 3, Anaheim 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 6 (UPI) -- Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves Friday and allowed only a first-period goal in boosting Dallas to a 3-1 win over Anaheim.

All the scoring took place in the opening period and the Stars did enough of it to end a three-game losing streak.

A shorthanded goal by Eric Nystrom with 6:04 to go in the first period put Dallas in front for good and Alex Chiasson scored on a tip-in with 48 seconds left.

The first Dallas goal came from Lane MacDermid, but Andrew Cogliano briefly brought Anaheim into a tie by putting a slap shot by Lehtonen midway through the period.

Viktor Fasth made 22 saves in the loss.

The teams faced each other in three straight games with Anaheim having won the first two. The Ducks missed a chance to move within a point of Chicago for the best record in the Western Conference.
