NBA: Denver 113, Utah 92

SALT LAKE CITY, April 3 (UPI) -- Danilo Gallinari scored 21 points Wednesday in sending Denver to a 113-92 win over Utah -- the Nuggets' 17th victory in 19 games.

Denver knocked the Jazz a half game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Nuggets broke the game open in the third period with Kenneth Faried scoring 19 points and Evan Fournier adding 18. Denver is 3 1/2 games behind Oklahoma City for the No. 2 seed in the West.

Utah, which had a five-game winning streak snapped, was led by 18 points from Gordon Hayward and 16 each from Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap.
