Texas lost the season opener 8-2 to the Astros Sunday but, with Yu Darvish perfect for 8 2/3 innings Tuesday before the Rangers finished off a two-hit 7-0 win, the Rangers allowed only five hits Wednesday.
Ogando (1-0) gave up four hits, walked one and struck out 10 over 6 1/3 innings and was supported by Robbie Ross, Tanner Scheppers, Michael Kirkman and Joe Nathan, who pitched 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief.
Astros starter Philip Humber (0-1) was nearly as sharp, allowing five hits and walking two in 5 2/3 innings. The Rangers loaded the bases in the sixth with a walk and two singles before Lance Berkman scored the game's first run on a double play.
