BRIDGEPORT, Conn., April 1 (UPI) -- Breanna Stewart fired in 21 points Monday and top-seeded Connecticut gained its sixth straight NCAA Final Four appearance with an 83-53 thrashing of Kentucky.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added 17 points for the Huskies (33-4), who set an NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament record with their sixth regional final win in six years.
Kelly Faris (12 points), Moriah Jefferson, Bria Hartley (10 points apiece) and Stefanie Dolson (11 rebounds) also played big roles in the Bridgeport, Conn., region triumph.
UConn goes on to face either Notre Dame or Duke in the April 7 national semifinal in New Orleans.
A'dia Mathies supplied 14 points and Jennifer O'Neill contributed 13 for the second-seeded Wildcats (30-5).
