MLS: New York 2, Philadelphia 1

HARRISON, N.J., March 30 (UPI) -- Thierry Henry came off the bench to score in the 81st minute Saturday, lifting New York over Philadelphia 2-1 for its first win of the season.

Henry collected a pass from Peguy Luyindula and used his left foot to send a volley past Zac McMath for the game-winner for the Red Bulls (1-2-3), who logged their initial victory in their sixth game.

Henry's decisive tally came after he had returned to the lineup following a sprained knee ligament.

Dax McCarthy shook off a defender to open the scoring in the 55th minute for the Red Bulls.

Conor Casey scored an equalizing goal in the 63rd minute for the Union (2-2-1).
