School reports water contamination at game

March 27, 2013 at 3:59 PM

MONETT, Mo., March 27 (UPI) -- A Missouri high school has notified parents of players on its girls' basketball team the players may have consumer urine-contaminated drinking water at a game.

The letter said four members of an opposing school's team admitted pouring urine into a cooler of drinking water provided to the Monett (Mo.) High School team at a game in February. The letter was sent to parents March 20, the day administrators learned of the incident.

Cassville (Mo.) High School officials have disciplined the students involved in the incident, and administrators are investigating further, the Monett Times reported Wednesday.

The letter said the Cassville student whose urine was poured into the water was undergoing medical tests to determine whether any health risks are present.
