NHL: Minnesota 7, Dallas 4

DALLAS, March 26 (UPI) -- Kyle Brodziak put Minnesota ahead with a third-period goal Monday and the surging Wild broke a long skid in Dallas with a 7-4 victory over the Stars.

Brodziak's tally 7 minutes into the final frame broke a 4-4 tie and came while Minnesota was killing off a 5-minute major spearing penalty to Mike Rupp.

Dany Heatley netted an insurance goal 6 minutes later and Pierre-Marc Bouchard added an empty-netter as Minnesota posted a regulation victory in Dallas for the first time since March 8, 2002.

Zach Parise scored twice and added an assist while Matt Cullen and Mikko Koivu as found the net as the Wild reeled off a sixth straight win overall.

Niklas Backstrom turned aside 22 shots in the victory.

The Stars, playing their first game without traded longtime captain Brenden Morrow, got a goal and an assist from Alex Goligoski.

Trevor Daley, Philip Larsen and Jaromir Jagr also scored, but Kari Lehtonen was torched for six goals on 41 shots in the loss.
