NHL: Dallas 5, Colorado 2

DALLAS, March 23 (UPI) -- Derek Roy scored the first of four straight Dallas goals and added an assist Saturday in the Stars' 5-2 spanking of Colorado.

Roy's tally 34 seconds into the game set the tone for the Stars, who notched a second straight victory after falling to the Avalanche 4-3 Wednesday.

Eric Nystrom and Jaromir Jagr provided a goal and an assist each for Dallas.

Cody Eakin and Jordie Benn each scored, Jamie Benn handed out three assists and Kari Lehtonen turned aside 33 shots for the Stars.

Dallas chased Colorado goaltender Semyon Varlamov in the first period after denting him for four goals on just 15 shots.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 15-of-16 tries the rest of the way.

P.A. Parenteau and Paul Stastny scored for the Avalanche.
