NBA: Dallas 104, Boston 94

DALLAS, March 23 (UPI) -- A season-best, 23-point effort from Brandan Wright Friday allowed Dallas to hang on for a 104-94 decision over Boston.

The Mavericks have won seven of their last 10 games in a late-season push to make the playoffs. Dallas trails the Los Angeles Lakers by three games for the eighth and final post-season spot in the Western Conference.

Wright made 11-of-16 from the field and collected eight rebounds. Dirk Nowitzki added 22 points while Vince Carter came off the bench to score 19.

Boston lost its third in a row and has suffered five setbacks in seven outings. Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Dallas led from start-to-finish after opening the contest on a 9-2 run.
