4-way tie at Miss. after late Pavin bogey

BILOXI, Miss., March 23 (UPI) -- Corey Pavin bogeyed the 18th Saturday and had to settle for a four-way for first after the second round at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic.

Pavin was among the co-leaders entering the round, and held the advantage until the 18th. He finished with a round of 5-under 67, ending at 8-under 136.

Joining him there were Roger Chapman (67), Bernhard Langer (65) and Joe Daley (66).

The foursome were one shot ahead of Tom Pernice Jr. (65), Esteban Toledo (65) and Gene Sauers (66), who finished the day at Fallen Oak Golf Club knotted for a fifth place at 7-under.

Defending champion Fred Couples carded a 6-under 66 -- one of four players tied at 6-under 138.
