March 21, 2013 at 12:43 AM

DENVER, March 21 (UPI) -- Chuck Kobasew gave Colorado its only lead with 3:29 left in regulation Wednesday, scoring on a backhander to give the Avalanche a 4-3 win over Dallas.

Colorado overcame a two-goal deficit in the second period and then fell behind again when Ray Whitney gave Dallas a 3-2 advantage late in the middle stanza.

Ryan O'Reilley tied it once more 6:20 into the third and Kobasew came through with the game-winner against Kari Lehtonen.

Colorado snapped a four-game losing streak.

Jaromir Jagr and Trevor Daley produced first-period goals for the Stars, but Semyon Varlamov settled down to get the win by making 29 saves. Lehtonen allowed the four goals on 34 shots.
