MIAMI, Del., March 20 (UPI) -- The National Hockey League slapped Florida Panthers forward Eric Selleck with a one-game suspension Wednesday for fighting.
As part of his NHL punishment, he will forfeit $5,945.94 in salary.
The NHL decided Selleck left the bench on a legal line change to start a fight with Carolina's Kevin Westgarth late in the third period during Tuesday's 4-1 Florida win over the Hurricanes.
Selleck, 25, received a minor penalty for instigation, a major for fighting and a game misconduct during the game, with Florida won.
