LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland, March 17 (UPI) -- Tina Maze of Slovenia wrapped up her stellar Alpine season Sunday by rallying to win the women's giant slalom at the World Cup finals in Switzerland.

Maze, this season's overall women's champion, was in fifth place after the first run Sunday but turned in the fastest second-run time for a winning combined time of 2 minutes, 16.67 seconds.

"It has been an amazing season for me," said Maze. "I started the season with a win and finished with another one. That's the way to go when you're (skiing) so strong."

Tessa Worley of France, who led after one run, took second place, 0.35 seconds behind Maze. Lara Gut of Switzerland took third.

Julia Mancuso was the the top American finisher with an eighth place. Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States, who won the slalom on Saturday, finished 11th Sunday with a time of 2:20.25.
