The Blackhawks halted their first losing streak of the season at two games and continued an amazing campaign with their 22nd victory in 27 outings. They defeated Columbus for the 11th straight time.
The only two goals during regulation came 52 seconds apart late in the second period. Johnny Oduya gave Chicago the lead with his first of the season, but Jack Johnson quickly tied it on the power play.
Corey Crawford made 29 saves and then stopped two of the three attempts Columbus had in the shootout.
Sergei Bobrovsky kept the Blue Jackets in the contest by turning aside 39 shots. Despite the setback, the Blue Jackets earned a point in their ninth straight game (5-0-4), establishing a franchise record.
