Raptors' Bargnani injured, out for season

TORONTO, March 13 (UPI) -- Toronto Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani has a sprained right elbow and is likely to miss the rest of the season, the team said Wednesday.

The 7-footer, who is unique among big men for his ability to shoot 3-pointers from the perimeter, exited early in the Raptors' Friday loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and didn't return.

Bargnani missed 26 games earlier this season with a right elbow problem, but the team said in a Twitter post the two injuries were not related.

Bargnani has averaged 12.7 points and 3.7 rebounds over 35 games in a disappointing 2012-13 season in which Toronto has gone 25-39.
