NHL suspends Ducks' Perry four games

NEW YORK, March 13 (UPI) -- Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry has been suspended four games for an illegal hit delivered to the Minnesota Wild's Jason Zucker, the NHL announced Wednesday.

Perry was suspended without pay after the incident, which happened in the second period of Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Wild.

On the play, Perry leveled a blindside shoulder to the head of Zucker as the Minnesota forward was making a turn. He lay motionless on the ice for several minutes and had to be helped off the ice.

Game officials assessed Perry a major penalty for interference and game misconduct at the time of hit.

Zucker said via Twitter Wednesday is feeling better and is hoping to return to the ice soon.

Perry will be eligible to return for the Ducks' March 22 game against Detroit.
