NBA: LA Lakers 118, Toronto 116 (OT)

LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant's double-double of 41 points and 12 assists Friday lifted the Los Angeles Lakers past Toronto 118-116 in overtime.

Bryant maneuvered past Aaron Gray and slammed home a two-handed dunk with 10.6 seconds left in the extra session to put the Lakers ahead and negate the nine turnovers he made in the game. Rudy Gay failed in his attempt tie it up with a jumper on the Raptors' final possession.

Toronto had led by as many as 15 points only to have Los Angeles work back into contention and force the overtime.

Dwight Howard added 24 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks as the Lakers won their 10th in a row at home against the Raptors. Steve Nash had 22 points for the winners.

DeMar DeRozan's 28 points was the best the Raptors could do as Toronto lost for the sixth time in seven games.
