SUNRISE, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- Jacob Markstrom turned aside 30-of-31 shots and Shawn Matthias notched the eventual game-winner Tuesday in Florida's 4-1 win over Winnipeg.

Markstrom was especially busy in the third period, stopping all 18 shots he saw en route to notching his first win of the season in his third start for the Panthers.

Matthias scored on an end-to-end rush in which he stickhandled past Mark Stuart and deposited a shot past Ondrej Pavelec to break a 1-1 tie midway through the second period.

Tomas Kopecky, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mike Santorelli also found the net as the Panthers snapped a three-game losing streak.

Pavelec ended with just 16 saves and Kyle Wellwood scored for the Jets.
