ACAPULCO, Mexico, March 3 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Rafael Nadal claimed his second title of the season Saturday, dispatching No. 1 seed David Ferrer in the final of the Mexican Open.

Nadal needed only 65 minutes to take care of Spanish countryman Ferrer 6-0, 6-2 on the clay courts of the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

The former world No. 1 won 81 percent of his first serves and saved both of the break-points he faced en route to the one-sided victory.

The Spanish superstar also titled in Sao Paulo two weeks ago while improving to 17-4 all-time against Ferrer.
