NHL: San Jose 2, Nashville 1

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 3 (UPI) -- Joe Thornton and Logan Couture each assisted on San Jose's two power-play goals Saturday, helping the Sharks to a 2-1 decision over Nashville.

The pair quarterbacked the Sharks' power-play unit on tallies by Dan Boyle in the first period and Joe Pavelski in the second as San Jose won for the second time in three games.

Antti Niemi turned aside 18-of-19 shots to secure the victory.

Gabriel Bourque notched a shorthanded goal and Pekka Rinne made 37 saves for the Predators, who fell for the fourth time in five contests.
