NHL: Phoenix 4, Vancouver 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Two goals by Kyle Chipchura Tuesday lifted the Phoenix Coyotes to a 4-2 road win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Chipchura opened the scoring late in the first period and then closed it out with an empty-net goal that salvaged the final game of a three-city road trip for the Coyotes.

Mikkel Boedker and Antoine Vermette also scored a goal and an assist for Phoenix. Mike Smith stopped 29-of-31 shots.

Cory Schneider allowed three goals on 21 shots for the Canucks, who lost their second game in a row. Jason Garrison and Henrik Sedin accounted for Vancouver's two goals.

Phoenix led wire-to-wire. Vancouver twice cut the gap to one goal but only had seven shots in the third period
