Bears' Webb arrested on pot charge

FOREST LAKE, Ill., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Chicago Bears offensive tackle J'Marcus Webb is facing a marijuana possession charge, authorities say.

KFVS-TV, Cape Girardeau, Mo., reported Webb was arrested by a sheriff's deputy in Pulaski County in southern Illinois, Sunday night. Webb, who paid $500 of a $5,000 bond and was released Monday, is to have a court appearance in March.

"We are aware of the recent arrest of J'Marcus Webb in Pulaski County, Ill.," the Bears said in a statement Wednesday. "We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."

Webb, a seventh-round pick in the 2010 NFL draft, started all 32 games at left tackle for the Bears the past two seasons.
