BOSTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A Suffolk University women's basketball player was charged with assaulting a Boston police officer at a party, after her team lost a championship game.
Dominique Demar, 21, was arrested early Sunday after police responded to complaints of noise at an off-campus Boston apartment.
Police said after knocking on the apartment door for 20 minutes, Demar opened the door, "yelled an obscenity at the officers before slamming the door on an officer's shoulder" and attempted to flee.
Police added about 25 people were in the apartment, "some of whom were hiding."
The incident occurred hours after Demar's team lost Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship game to Emmanuel College, 68-45, the Boston Herald reported.
